SOLD ON SOUL – THE BEST OF MOTOWN, SOUL, FUNK & DISCO

Stevie Wonder, Chic, The Jacksons, Martha Reeves, Rose Royce… some of the greatest names in soul and disco, and the music still sounds as good today as it did when it first hit the charts.

Sold on Soul bring that music to The Oval Bandstand this summer with a talented six/seven-piece line-up and a repertoire spanning the golden age of Motown and Stax through to the disco and funk classics of the 1970s.

From the unmistakable grooves of Chic and The Jacksons to the timeless soul of Sam Cooke and Martha Reeves, this is a band that knows its music and how to entertain a crowd.

There’s something special about hearing these songs performed by a full band, particularly in the open air on a summer afternoon.

Sold on Soul are joining us for Summer Sundays 2027, and we’re expecting this one to be a popular choice with our regular audience.

• Doors, toilets and concessions open: 1pm – 5pm .
• Concert: 2pm – 4pm.
• A minimum £3 donation per adult on door (under 16’s no donation required).
• All persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
• A fully licensed bar and food is available (NO alcohol and NO food is not to be brought into venue, bag searches are in operation).
• Fully accessible toilet facilities are available.
• All seating areas have step-free access.
• There is no car parking at the venue, please use public transport, bicycles, or arrive on foot. There is very limited local car parking and charges may apply.
• Well behaved dogs are welcome, but they MUST be kept on a lead at all times whilst in the bandstand auditorium.
