What is The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever?
The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is an international charity dance event inspired by the iconic “Wuthering Heights” choreography made famous by Kate Bush. Each year, participants across the world gather wearing red to recreate the expressive movements from the original music video, creating joyful, large-scale moments of collective creativity and connection.
Originally developed as a theatrical concept by British group Shambush and Samantha Wareing, the event has grown into a global movement rooted in inclusion and shared experience. Since 2016, more than 10,000 people in over 70 cities worldwide have taken part, with some locations attracting crowds of over 2,000 dancers.
The Margate edition forms part of this global celebration while remaining proudly local, raising funds for community causes and welcoming people of all ages and abilities to take part.

What to wear and how to take part
Red clothing has become the instantly recognisable symbol of The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever, inspired by the original music video. Many participants choose to wear a red dress, while others opt for red tops, scarves, capes or accessories. There is no strict dress code beyond feeling comfortable and confident.
No dance experience is required. The choreography is expressive and intentionally accessible, with the emphasis firmly on enjoyment rather than technical accuracy. Participants are welcome to learn the moves in advance, follow along on the day, or simply take part in their own way.
The event is equally enjoyable for those who prefer to watch, cheer, take photos and enjoy the atmosphere, making it welcoming for families, friends and visitors.
